I hope you and your teams are keeping well in these unsettling times.
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Theo Vermaak as interim Chief Executive Officer of PKF International to succeed James Hickey, who we wish well for the future. Theo will join PKF International on May 1, 2020.
In addition, Theo will continue his role as Chairman of PKF South Africa. He has previously been a member of the PKF International team and has held the positions of Chairman of the International Professional Standards Committee and Regional Director of Africa. Theo has also served as Chairman of the Forum of Firms.
Theo’s experience and knowledge, with more than 15 years within the network, will provide the stability and strong leadership required to successfully navigate the current climate.
Theo commented: “I am delighted to be returning to PKF International. It is a strong network made up of special people, with a long history of supporting firms and driving values that transcend cultures and cross continents.
"I have first-hand experience of the significant benefits that network collaboration brings to our firms. As we face the challenges of COVID-19 together, I believe this is a time for us to focus on the fundamentals: carefully supporting our firms to help their clients. Members should also aspire to support each other through this crisis.
"PKF International’s main priorities are to provide value to our members in the form of simple and clear PKF brand guidelines and assets, connecting members to facilitate real collaboration and harnessing our collective strengths, and empowering the international team to support you in their respective roles."
I am delighted to see Theo return to PKF International and myself and the Board are here to support him in reaching his objectives for the network. I am sure you will want to congratulate Theo and I hope to hear from you soon.
